Myles Bailey is officially a member of the Chicago Cubs.
The FSU first baseman has signed with the Cubs, according to Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline. He signed a deal worth $1.9 million, the 75th overall pick had a value of $1,120,900. Bailey was able to get the overslot deal due to his remaining years of eligibility and ability.
Bailey had arguably the best power in the 2026 MLB Draft and will have a chance to move very quickly after two strong seasons with the Seminoles. The Tallahassee native hit .337, 32 home runs, 16 doubles, 89 RBI, and 67 walks in 82 games. He recorded a .734 slugging percentage and a .488 on-base percentage.
Despite playing in just 26 games in 2026 before suffering a season-ending injury, he led FSU in batting average (.363), OPS (1.495), and home runs (13), and was top five in RBI (33), total bases (73), and walks (35).
Bailey was one of seven FSU players taken in the draft and the highest-drafted position player. Pitcher Wes Mendes, who went to the Houston Astros with the No. 57 overall pick, was the only one taken higher.
