OSHKOSH – No injuries were reported after a coach bus caught fire July 18 on southbound Interstate 41 in Oshkosh.
The Oshkosh Fire Department said crews were called at 8:42 a.m. for a possible fire in the wheel area of the bus.
When firefighters arrived, they found the passenger area of the bus fully engulfed in flames.
Everyone on the bus got out safely, and officials said no smoke inhalation was reported.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and checked the scene for hazards and traffic impacts.
The bus was considered a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The fire department reminded drivers to slow down, move over for emergency vehicles and use caution near emergency scenes.
