The Texas A&M Aggies have added another player through the transfer portal. Former Houston two-way player Caleb Kimble announced his commitment on Friday.
Kimble is from Houston, Texas, and spent his freshman season with the Cougars and will have three seasons of eligibility at Texas A&M. He appeared in 14 games as a pitcher, finishing with a 3.97 ERA in 22 2/3 innings. He also took nine at-bats, going 0-9 with one walk and six strikeouts.
Opponents hit .167 off Kimble, recording 13 hits and walking 14 times, but striking out 24. He allowed three doubles and three home runs. Twelve of his appearances were as a reliever, with him making two starts. His longest outing of the season was 3.0 innings, with him doing it twice.
He actually pitched against Texas A&M on April 14 in Blue Bell Park. He struck out the side in his only inning of work in his new home on 13 pitches.
Texas A&M is overhauling its pitching staff this offseason, and Kimble is the fourth transfer that they have added already. They will also have a new pitching coach in Barry Enright as they look to improve on their 5.24 ERA from last season.
