Looking to beat the heat this summer? Head to one of New York’s water parks that offer spots to splash, slide and cool off on a hot day.

From water-filled rides like the Hydro Racer and new Reef Runners tube slide at Seabreeze Amusement Park in the Rochester region to The Megalodon and Cowabunga Falls at SplashDown Beach in the Hudson Valley, there is an abundance of fun.

Here are eight outdoor water parks to check out within the Empire state this summer

Six Flags Darien Lake Theme Park

Where: 9993 Allegheny Road, Darien Center (Genesee County)

Hours: 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the water park, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the theme park

Cost: Daily tickets start at $35 per person online.

Seabreeze Amusement Park

Where: 4600 Culver Road, Irondequoit (Monroe County)

Hours:  Weekdays 11 a.m.-8 p.m.; Weekends 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Closures shift to one hour earlier in mid-August.
