The UCLA Bruins’ top 2027 recruit, cornerback JuJu Johnson, inked an endorsement deal with Nike ahead of his senior year of high school. The five-star recruit will wrap up his high school career at Long Beach Poly before staying in Southern California with the Bruins.
Johnson is 247 Sports’ No. 31 player in the class, being the No. 3 recruit in all of California. One of the California recruits ranked ahead of him is his high school teammate, with Miami commit Donte Wright lining up at the other cornerback position for Long Beach Poly. It’s looking as if California is going to produce a stellar class of defensive backs, with the top four recruits in the state all looking like they’re going to stick in the defensive backfield.
Nike wasted no time signing Johnson to an endorsement deal, but UCLA had their brand deal with Jordan extended, meaning Johnson will be wearing Jordan products throughout his career with the Bruins.
Johnson is the top UCLA recruit for the 2027 class, which 247 Sports ranks as the No. 19 group in the country and the sixth-best in the Big Ten Conference behind Oregon, Ohio State, Nebraska, USC and Michigan. Johnson is the only five-star but UCLA has gotten commitments from seven four-star recruits.
We’re about a year away from Johnson beginning his UCLA career but Nike ensured that he’ll have some swoosh swagger in the meantime before that NIL money starts flowing Johnson’s direction.
