MADISON – Nick Boyd did not have to wait too long to find an NBA home.
The Wisconsin point guard is signing with the Golden State Warriors after going undrafted in the 2026 NBA Draft, his agency, ProMondo Sports, announced June 25 on social media.
The second-team all-Big Ten selection will join a Golden State team that is coming off a 37-45 season in 2025-26. The Warriors drafted Michigan forward Yaxel Lendeborg in the first round and Florida State guard Lajae Jones.
Boyd’s lack of draft selection is not entirely a surprise after some mock drafts had him either as a late second-round pick or undrafted player.
Boyd played one season with the Badgers after four years with Florida Atlantic and one year with San Diego State. He scored 726 points – second-most for a Badger, trailing only Frank Kaminsky’s 732 in 2015 – and was the first UW player to average 20-plus points since Michael Finley in 1995.
The 6-foot-1 guard often elevated his game against guards who did hear their name called in the draft, scoring 27 against Bennett Stirtz-led Iowa and 25 and then 38 against Keaton Wagler-led Illinois.
“Just playing in the Big Ten, you know, best of the best competition, each and every night you’re going up against pros,” Boyd said at the NBA Combine in May. “So that just prepared me for opportunities like this, and I’m just trying to make the most of it.”
