For the first time in eight years, the Western Conference finals have gone the distance.
The top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder and second-seeded San Antonio Spurs will play in a Game 7 with a trip to the NBA Finals on the line Saturday, May 30.
Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.
The winner plays the Eastern Conference champion New York Knicks in the NBA Finals.
The reigning NBA champion Thunder are seeking to become the first team to advance to consecutive NBA Finals since the 2019 season.
The Spurs are looking for their first NBA Finals appearance since 2014 as they eye bookend road wins in the series. San Antonio is also coming off another resounding victory over the Thunder when it never trailed in a 27-point drubbing to even the series and set up the winner-take-all game. The Thunder have been frustrated by the Spurs this series as they’ve been held below 100 points in two of the last three games.
But following the Thunder’s previous two losses in the series, they responded with emphatic victories. They’ll hope the home court and experience pays off one more time against their rival.
While this is the Thunder’s first Game 7 of these playoffs, it will be their third in the last two years. They won two Game 7s during the 2025 playoffs, in the second round over the Denver Nuggets and later in the NBA Finals over the Indiana Pacers. Both were home games.
But the Spurs have been a huge challenge all season for these Thunder. In fact, Victor Wembanyama and Co. have defeated the Thunder in seven of the 11 matchups, including in the NBA Cup semifinals.
Now, they’ll face each other one more time with the NBA Finals at stake.

Victor Wembanyama highlights
See all of Victor Wembanyama’s 18 blocks during the Western Conference finals:
In his WCF debut, Wembanyama has been marvelous. He’s averaging a team-high 28.2 points on 48.2% shooting and 92.0% from the free-throw line in 37.0 minutes with 11.5 rebounds, 3.3 blocks and 1.5 steals.
If the Spurs are to win Game 7, he’ll likely have to produce another monster game. In the team’s three wins, Wembanyama is averaging 34 points and 14 rebounds per game. In the three losses, his scoring has dropped to 22.3 points and nine rebounds per game.
Jalen Williams injury update: Will Thunder’s Jalen Williams play in Game 7?
Jalen Williams, the All-Star guard who has been hampered with injuries all season and throughout the playoffs, will not play in Game 7.
Williams has played in only five total postseason games while battling a hamstring injury.
He left Game 2 of the Western Conference finals and went on to miss Games 3, 4 and 5. He came off the bench in Game 6 but was limited to only 10 minutes and scored just one point on a free throw as he was a non factor.
Williams didn’t play at all in the Thunder’s second-round series and only two games in the first round.
Backup guard Ajay Mitchell is also out for Game 7, missing his fourth straight contest with a right soleus (calf) strain.
Thunder vs Spurs Game 7
This is the first time since 2018 that the Western Conference finals are going to a Game 7.
That year, the No. 2-seeded Golden State Warriors defeated the top-seeded Houston Rockets on the road to advance to their fourth straight NBA Finals where they would win the title for a third time in four years.
After the Spurs won Game 1 in a double-overtime classic, the ensuing games of the 2026 WCF have been mostly blowouts.
The home teams have won each of the last three games by an average of 20.3 points.
In the Spurs’ three victories, they’re winning by an average of 18.3 points. In the Thunder’s three wins, they’re winning by an average of 12.3 points.
