The Blind Horse unveils new Terrace Bar in time for summer

KOHLER – The Blind Horse opens its new terrace bar just in time for summer.

After more than a year of construction, the two-story, 540-square-foot Terrace Bar expands the winery with more seating and bar space.

The new bar, with the continued rustic, eclectic feel of the property, replaces a small, one-story building that housed an open air bar and kitchen on the south side of the patio.

“We’ve been here for 13 years, and it’s just time to revamp the place,” said Bob Moeller, one of the owners of The Blind Horse.

At the Terrace Bar — outfitted with mirror chandeliers, an industrial kitchen and new marble bar tops — guests can enjoy small plates, like flatbread pizzas, shrimp ceviche and burgers, while watching live music on Fridays and Saturdays during the summer. It will be open year-round.

The new space also has a staircase winding from the first floor to the second floor in an old silo, high beams and art curated by Connie Moeller, co-owner of The Blind Horse. Both levels have large windows: the first floor has two hydraulic doors that open vertically, and the second floor has floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the patio, bandshell and the cleaned up creek along the property.

A catwalk from the second floor of the winery’s tasting room connects to the new bar’s second story.

When to visit the Terrace Bar during the summer

Starting June 5, the Terrace Bar will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays-Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays during the summer.

The winery could see changes in 2027

Early 2027 could bring more changes to The Blind Horse winery, like cosmetic changes to the tasting room to echo the Terrace Bar and The Blind Horse Cellar in Cedarburg, which opened in the fall.
