This year’s Eastern Conference Final featured a battle of former Wisconsin Badgers to determine which would go on to play for the Stanley Cup.
In five games, the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Montreal Canadiens. Cole Caufield’s terrific season came to an end not just against a red-hot Hurricanes squad, but one that featured his former Badgers skater, K’Andre Miller.
Now, the No. 22 overall pick in 2018 has a chance to win his first Stanley Cup. After spending his first five seasons with the team that drafted him, the New York Rangers, Miller is four games away from winning it all during his first year in Carolina.
Miller had a pair of assists in the Hurricanes’ 4-1 series victory over the Canadians. So far this postseason, he’s accumulated eight assists.
Carolina’s opposition is the Vegas Golden Knights. Shockingly, John Tortorella’s squad swept the league’s best team, the Colorado Avalanche, in the Western Conference Finals.
Keep in mind, the only playoff game the Hurricanes lost this season was Game 1 of the Canadians series. Other than that, they’re a perfect 12-0 in pursuit of their second Stanley Cup in franchise history.
