A woman is dead and a man is in jail following a shooting Saturday night in Abilene.
According to a press release from Abilene Police, officers were called just before 11 p.m. to an apartment complex in the 2600 block of Ivanhoe Street.
They found a woman in one of the apartments dead from apparant gunshot wounds. She was indientified as Aleisha Cabrera, 24.
The release said that after questioning at the scene, police arrested Steven Pena, 23. He was taken to the Taylor County Jail and charged with First Degree Felony Murder.
The release also said the couple’s young daughter was in the home at the time of the shooting and was placed with Child Protective Services.
