Longhorns pitcher Luke Harrison invited to Team USA Training Camp

Another Longhorn will get to compete in the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp this summer. On Wednesday, Luke Harrison received an invite from Team USA, joining his teammates Sam Cozart, Anthony Pack Jr., and Dylan Volantis. They will be competing for a spot with the top 50 players in the nation.

The Longhorns stars will play in three days of exhibition contests against teams from the Appalachian League. That will be followed by a five-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad series. Then the final roster will be revealed, and players who are selected to participate in the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship can start making travel plans.

For Harrison, the invite comes as no surprise given the numbers he put together during the 2026 campaign. He posted a 4.10 ERA in 83.1 innings of work while striking out a career-high 100 batters. In his final season as a Longhorn, Harrison also set career highs in innings pitched and starts with 16.

In the postseason, the Lutheran South Academy High alum continued to shine with a stellar outing against Georgia. He finished his Longhorns career with an 11-strikeout performance against the Bulldogs on college baseball’s biggest stage. That has drawn the eye of scouts who have watched Harrison develop into a solid depth arm during his college career.

If Harrison were to make the team, he would join a list that includes some Longhorns greats. That includes Huston Street, Corey Knebel, Drew Stubbs, Taylor Teagarden, and Hoby Milner. Everyone in that group had an impact on the majors.

As Team USA makes roster cuts, Harrison will be a name to watch as he tries to set himself apart and raise his stock before the MLB Draft.
