Burkburnett nonprofits just got a boost from an organization focused on improving life in the city, according to a media release.
The Burkburnett Legacy Foundation, an affiliate program of the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation, has awarded $24,200 in grants to five nonprofit organizations serving Burkburnett residents.
The mission of the Burkburnett Legacy Foundation is to enhance the quality of life in Burkburnett now and forever through resource development, collaboration, public leadership and grantmaking.
Each year, the BLF Advisory Committee reviews grant applications and awards funding to nonprofit organizations working to address local needs and strengthen the community.
Organizations receiving funding through the 2026 grant cycle include:
The funded projects support youth enrichment, literacy initiatives, food assistance, senior services and educational opportunities for local residents.
Established in 2001, the Burkburnett Legacy Foundation was created to support charitable causes that enhance the quality of life in the city of Burkburnett.
Since its founding, BLF has awarded over $250,000 to local nonprofit organizations, investing in programs and services that benefit residents of all ages and create a lasting charitable resource for the community.
Burkburnett Legacy Foundation Advisory Committee members include Jonathan Ellzey, chairman; Danny Cremeens, vice chairman; and Marguerite Love, secretary, as well as members Audrey Ash, Danny Brown, Guy Duke, Lynn Landrum, Deana Skinner and Leslie Petersen.
