Investigating reported break-ins at Lubbock apartment
The investigation began on June 15 when a woman reported to police that her apatment had been broken into at least twice since June 10.
The woman told investigators that she arrived home about midnight on June 10 and fell asleep while talking with a friend on the phone.
The woman’s phone records indicate the call lasted about three hours.
The woman said she woke up later that day and found found images of her partially undressed as she was asleep. She said the images were taken and sent to an unknown phone number shortly after she fell asleep.
The woman said an online search of the phone number indicated that it belonged to someone with the initials “JT,” according to court documents.
Four days later, the woman told investigators she received a social media message from a user named Javen Jordan who complimented her appearance and proposed a date, the warrant states.
The next day, the woman said she arrived home around 3 a.m. and noticed before going to bed that a candle warmer that sat on her windowsill was missing.
When she woke up, she told investigators she found her bedroom window was forced open and also saw pry marks on her backdoor.
A used condom also lay on her living room floor that appeared to contain semen, the warrant states.
Responding officers found fingerprints outside of the bedroom window that investigators said was later matched to Jordan, who, according to court records was sentenced in 2024 to six months in a state jail after he pleaded guilty to a count of theft from a person.
The phone number to which the woman’s pictures were sent was also registered to Jordan, whose previous address was 100 feet away from the woman’s apartment. Detectives noted that the woman’s bedroom window faces Jordan’s previous residence, the warrant states.
Detectives also matched the social media profile to Jordan after comparing images on the account to his driver’s license photo.
Jail records show Jordan was arrested in the 2600 block of Akron Avenue.
