Roberts last season was credited with 90 tackles, including 4 tackles for loss. He also had 5 pass breakups, 4 interceptions and a fumble recovery.

Dickey and Roberts were two of 12 Texas Tech football players named to the all-Texas team. That was one more than Texas and four more than Texas A&M.

The Red Raiders had four honorees on each side of the ball. Named to the first-team offense were Dickey, fellow running back/utility player J’Koby Williams, tight end Terrance Carter Jr. and offensive tackle Howard Sampson. Tackle Jacob Ponton made the second-team offense.

Chosen to the first-team defense were edge defender Trey White, tackle A.J. Holmes, Roberts and cornerback Brice Pollock. On the second-team defense are edge defender Adam Trick and linebackers John Curry and Austin Romaine.

Texas Tech also is the Texas Football cover-story subject in the annual summer preview magazine. Featured on the cover are Red Raiders coach Joey McGuire, general manager James Blanchard, Roberts, athletics director Kirby Hocutt and Board of Regents chairman Cody Campbell.

Seven Tech players made the preseason all-America list in the annual Phil Steele preview magazine. Those are Carter on the first team, Williams, Holmes, Roberts and Pollock on the second team and center Sheridan Wilson and kicker Stone Harrington on the fourth team.
