Severe weather possible tonight in central Ohio. Here's what to know

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a severe weather outlook April 24 for parts of central and western Ohio.

The outlook warns of possible strong to severe isolated storms throughout the region, especially from isolated strong wind gusts that could damage power lines and lead to power outages.

The outlook is in place from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. April 24.

Non-severe storms are possible in other parts of Ohio east of Lancaster, where there will still be danger from lightning.

Weekend forecast for Columbus Ohio

From the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Light south wind becoming southwest 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms. Low around 60. West wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday, April 25: A slight chance of showers before 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47. North wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Sunday, April 26: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Northeast wind around 8 mph.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51.

Monday, April 27: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.
