Cincinnati Enquirer readers showed up to choose the next Student of the Week for the period ending April 24.
Each week, these ballots are posted at 7 a.m. on Mondays. Like the popular athlete of the week ballots, voters may cast a ballot once an hour until the 2 p.m. deadline on Fridays.
School representatives such as teachers, counselors, club advisers, communication staff and principals can nominate these high school students by 5 p.m. on Thursdays.
Here is this week’s winner.
Riley Thrasher, Hamilton High School
Riley Thrasher, a student at Hamilton High School, is a creative leader who consistently goes above and beyond in every endeavor, from the classroom to the community. As captain of the nationally ranked varsity winter guard and a longtime member of the Hamilton High School marching band and orchestra, she balances a rigorous performance schedule with an attentive, kindhearted attitude that makes her a natural role model for her peers.
Thrasher’s passion for excellence is evident in her entrepreneurial success as the owner of Thrasher Cookies, a venture that reflects her signature “polite overachiever” spirit and exceptional baking skills. Whether she’s collecting botanical specimens on vacation or supporting teachers and staff, she approaches every task with a positive outlook and a genuine desire to help others.
Looking ahead, she plans to bring her unique blend of artistic flair and dedication to Cincinnati State as she pursues her dream of becoming a professional baker.
