There are plenty of storylines to follow when the New York Jets face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday in Week 12.
None more glaring than Tyrod Taylor starting in place of Justin Fields, who was benched earlier this week. One flying under the radar is Jets cornerback Brandon Stephens playing against his former Ravens (5-5) team.
Stephens was drafted by the Ravens in the third round (No. 104 overall) of the 2021 NFL draft. He played out his entire four-year rookie contract in Baltimore before signing a three-year, $36 million contract with the Jets (2-8) this past free agency period.
Stephens is looking forward to playing against the Ravens on Sunday.
“I’m excited about it,” Stephens said to reporters about facing his old team in Week 12. “Honestly, I haven’t thought too much about playing there. I’ve mainly been focusing on our game plan and what not. It’ll be a good opportunity for all of us.”
Stephens is essentially the Jets’ No. 1 cornerback following the organization’s decision to trade Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts at the deadline.
Pro Football Focus has credited Stephens with allowing 29 receptions on 46 targets this season for 290 yards and five touchdowns. It’s been a mixed bag.
On Sunday, he will draw matchups with Ravens receivers Rashod Bateman and Zay Flowers.
Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2025 season.
