Pritzker touts new investments across Illinois as he seeks new term

Gov. JB Pritzker is on the campaign trail around the state and is touting new investments being made in Illinois.

As he makes a case for another term as governor, Pritzker cut a ribbon June 22 on a $250 million soybean processing and solar array plant in Gilman. That facility is set to be a 170,000-square-foot project that will create 40 new jobs and retain 200 existing positions.

“Illinois is proudly the nation’s top soybean producer, and Icobrasa is powering the modern economy with those soybeans in the heart of our state,” Pritzker said. “This expansion marks the next chapter for Incobrasa, with a transformational investment that will create new jobs and scale up production capacity for biofuel, farm feed, and more — all while affirming Illinois’ role as an innovator in the agriculture industry.”

The facility will be the largest soybean processing plant in the country.

Agricultural company makes big investment in Illinois

Pritzker too was in Decatur recently to celebrate a $103 million investment by ADM to modernize its North American headquarters.

ADM, an agricultural processing company, has been based in Decatur for 85 years.

“For nearly a century, ADM has helped shape communities and livelihoods in Central Illinois, delivering opportunities for workers and families while growing a world-renowned agricultural enterprise,” Pritzker said. “ADM’s growth is one of the reasons Illinois is an international economic powerhouse, and I’m proud to celebrate the company’s latest move to modernize its facilities, create new jobs for our talented workforce, and continue to innovate right here in Illinois.”

Komatsu unveils new building in Peoria

While he did not make an appearance for the event, Pritzker did tout on social media a Journal Star article detailing Komatsu’s unveiling of their new $28 million facility on Adams Street.

The facility new office building held its ribbon cutting in Peoria on June 10, Pritzker made a post on X about the opening on June 14 saying, “A major investment in Peoria as Komatsu opens the doors to their new headquarters.”
