Minnesota company plans mass layoffs across five Illinois counties

A company plans to lay off nearly 1,400 employees across five Illinois counties starting in July, according to information the business provided to the state.

Ideal US Talent Worker OpCo LLC intends to lay off 1,395 workers in Cook, Lake, McHenry, Kane and Kendall counties on July 1, according to a notice submitted in May via the Illinois Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.

Ideal, a Minnesota-based company specializing in temporary help services, cited restructuring as the reason for the layoffs.

“As a part of its restructuring, Ideal is transitioning its customer contracts to a third-party partner and has encouraged all affected workers to apply there,” a spokesperson said. “The layoffs are expected to be permanent, and there are no bumping rights with respect to this layoff.”
