Volusia's Spruce Creek High School seniors earn their degrees

Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange graduated 634 students at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach on May 28.

The Class of 2026 has earned $7.6 million in college scholarships. Its college and career acceleration rate stands at 84%, demonstrating graduates who have completed coursework or earned credentials exhibiting readiness for postsecondary education, the workforce or military.

Scholars earn recognitions

John Grimaldi was named Spruce Creek’s valedictorian and Matthew Murray was the salutatorian. In all, 177 Hawks received scholar designations.

Biliteracy, fine arts achievement

Of the Spruce Creek class, 139 students earned the Florida Seal of Biliteracy, and another 49 attained a Florida Seal of Fine Arts. Through dual enrollment, 36 have received associate of arts or associate of science degrees.

Community service, industry designations

Spruce Creek students donated 136,431 hours to community service. A total of 402 received industry scholar designations.
