PIQUA — The Lexington Lady Lex will be extremely well represented at next week’s OHSAA state track and field championships.
Three relay teams and four individuals punched their tickets to state during the Division III regional track and field championships on Saturday, May 30 at Piqua High School.
Senior Allison Laury made it out in the 200-meter dash by posting a time of 25.38 seconds to take fourth overall and earn an automatic qualifying spot.
Freshman Mia Twedt took runner-up honors in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.09 which sent her directly to Columbus.
Twin sister Gabi Twedt and senior Katya Prykhodko qualified in the 1,600-meter run. Prykhodko took fourth overall with a 5:09.44 and Gabi Twedt was fifth with a 5:09.63 with both earning automatic qualifying spots.
The 4×100-meter relay team of Tatum Stover, Sylvia Secrist, Olivia Thomas and Laury took third place in the Division III regional meet with a 49.29 and will run in Columbus next week.
The 4×400-meter relay team of Thomas, Secrist, Mia Twedt and Laury earned an at-large bid after taking sixth in the regional with a 4:00.14 but was one of the Top 3 times not in the Top 5 across the three regional meets.
The 4×800-meter relay team of Prykhodko, Jersie Palmer, Morgan Harrod and Mia Twedt took runner-up honors at regionals with a 9:28.70 to advance to state.
