A popular fast-casual chicken chain that made its Gainesville debut in 2023 is planning a second area location.
A Plan Review Application on file with the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation shows that Raising Cane’s has plans to open in the former ABC Fine Wine & Spirits location at 3433 SW Archer Road.
The Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based chicken restaurant features a simple menu that includes hand-dipped, made-to-order chicken fingers, fries, coleslaw and Texas toast.
The restaurant’s signature Box Combo features four chicken fingers, fries, one Cane’s Sauce, Texas toast and a regular drink for $12.29. Those looking to feed a hungry tailgate party can select from a variety of catering options from 25 to 300 chicken fingers. A 50-Finger Tailgate runs $81.99, while a 100-Finger Tailgate costs $151.99.
The Raising Cane’s opened across from the University of Florida campus on the bottom floor of the StadiumHouse apartment complex in June 2023. The location at 1680 W. University Ave., Suite 20, is open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight.
That location in April hosted UF basketball players Walter Clayton Jr., Alijah Martin and Thomas Haugh as they “worked” a shift as part of a promotional spot just days after the Gators beat Houston for the 2005 national championship.
