NBA insider Shams Charania revealed where Golden State stands in the race for LeBron James, and unfortunately for the Warriors, their position isn’t as high as initially anticipated. Charania reported that Golden State “needs a little work still” and that they are “behind” Cleveland, Miami and Philadelphia. Considering the Timberwolves and Nuggets have not been mentioned, it seems like the Warriors are James’ fourth option at the moment.
Charania also reported that the 76ers were never on James’ list until acquiring Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics. So, to land the four-time champion, Golden State likely needs to strengthen their roster to compete with the acquisitions made this summer by both Philadelphia and Miami.
