Three people suffered major injuries during a pre-dawn two-vehicle collision on Bear Valley Road in Victorville.
Authorities reported that around 3:54 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, Victorville Station deputies responded to the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Balsam Avenue following reports of a two-vehicle traffic collision with injuries.
The Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response also arrived at the scene east of Interstate 15.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a white Ford Mustang, with three people, and a red tractor-trailer collided in the number one westbound lane of Bear Valley Road near the intersection of Balsam Avenue.
The injured
During the collision, three people in the Mustang sustained multiple injuries, including:
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a man from Hesperia, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Cause under investigation
Deputies assigned to the Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team responded and assumed the investigation.
Bear Valley Road was closed between Cypress and Balsam avenues for several hours while investigators processed the scene.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
The names and update on the condition of the injured was not revealed as of Wednesday.
