Firefighters told emergency dispatchers that it was an illegal debris burn.

Thursday’s incident comes three days after two fires broke out east and southeast of Redding.

The Plains Fire in Millville burned 39 acres on Tuesday. The fire burned just north of where the Buffalo Fire broke out earlier on Tuesday, burning just under 10 acres in the 25100 block of Aoudad Drive. A third fire was smaller and called out late Tuesday night.
