After spending his first five seasons with four different teams, Aaron Holiday has played the last three years for the Houston Rockets as a backup point guard. Holiday has consistently averaged 12-16 minutes per game throughout his career apart from his sophomore season, when he started 33 games for the Indiana Pacers.
This included the 2025-26 season, where Holiday averaged 5.5 points, 1.1 assists, one rebound and 0.5 steals in 13.7 minutes. Across the board, Holiday’s numbers were either marginally better or worse in every statistical category from a season ago, shooting percentages included. Although Holiday’s defensive work rate is high, opposing teams often pick on him due to his size (6’0″). Despite an offseason injury to the expected starting point guard, Fred VanVleet, Holiday was unable to capitalize and earn a larger role. Holiday will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, casting doubt on his future with the team.
