Check your pizza snob sensibilities at the door because you can’t deny the warm-fuzzy nostalgia of an old-fashioned Pizza Hut restaurant.
The pizza chain, which has had some setbacks, has gone back to the drawing board with Pizza Hut Classic locations across the U.S., where you can gather the kids after a softball game at checkered-tablecloth tables under those old-timey Tiffany stained glass-style lamps, where many of us can feel the rush we felt as kids in the 1970s through ’90s, when it was a treat to eat out, long before the days of cellphones and DoorDash.
As of May 2026, there are over 150 official Pizza Hut Classic locations operating across 27 states. The movement is largely driven by franchisees — like the Daland Corporation, which has converted nearly 40 of its locations into physical time machines to revive the traditional sit-down fast-food experience
“For many guests, revisiting a classic Pizza Hut dining room offers exactly that: a familiar experience that feels authentic, comforting, and sparks memories of gathering around the table with friends and family,” the Daland Company said in a media release.
Only one Pizza Hut in Florida is a designated Pizza Hut Classic.
Where is Florida’s Pizza Hut Classic?
Right on the Nature Coast. The perfect spot to eat with the troop after kayaking and hiking in the Withlacoochee State Forest.
The Sunshine State’s Pizza Hut Classic is located at 4845 S. Suncoast Blvd., Homosassa Springs, just 40 miles from Sumter County.
Said one Crystal River mom on Facebook:
“We would take our daughters and sit in the big half-round booth, and they would get their personal pan pizzas, and we would share a pizza and get their personal salad bar. We always had the same waitress who had been there for eons, and she was there until the very end, and it was like coming to family each time! The kids loved it, we loved it, and the kids were always made to feel welcomed while there, not to mention the many after sports trips or events, and in my personal opinion, they have the best pizza around here.”
