Sandburg Community Band will perform a free outdoor concert to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence.
The concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. July 2 on the college’s Galesburg campus, according to a community announcement.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the music along the lake outside Building E. Food and nonalcoholic drinks are welcome, and Carnival Delights will have food available for purchase. A free temporary glitter tattoo station will also be available, according to the announcement.
In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the theater in room F118.
Area musicians are invited to join the band
The Sandburg Community Band, now in its second year, offers an opportunity for musicians of all ages and instruments to come together and make music. Those interested in joining the band can complete an interest form at sandburg.edu/communityband.
