A July 1 inspection may determine if a downtown restaurant can reopen for business.
The Loft at Pickers, 1000 Indiana Avenue, closed June 9 after a routine inspection by the Wichita Falls City-County Health District found 15 violations that resulted in a score of 71 — just one point above failing.
Many of the violations were due to cleanliness issues, repairs that needed to be made and leaking water, according to the health district.
A follow-up inspection Monday centered on corrections to the previous violations.
The inspector noted in his report that drains had been removed for replumbing and cleaning, and work is being done on the plumbing, ceiling tiles and floor.
The manager provided proof of an action plan for repairs and a cleaning frequency for employees to prevent future cleaning issues, the inspector wrote.
A follow-up inspection is anticipated for July 1 to reopen the restaurant for public use, the inspector wrote.
