Hello Kitty is bringing her iconic pink truck to Illinois this week, with special sweet treats and limited-time merch on offer for fans.
As part of its 2026 tour, the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck is making numerous stops across the country, including in two cities in the Chicago suburbs.
But that’s not all. The Hello Kitty team has more surprises in store for fans in the Chicagoland area. Here’s what we know.
What is the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck?
The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck brings sweet treats and special merchandise to fans across the country, offering the iconic cafe experience on the go.
NBC Chicago reported that the truck will serve giant cookies, Madeleines and cookie macaroon sets during its 2026 tour. Fan favorites like keychains, thermal bottles and plushies will also be available for purchase, as well as new zip sweatshirts, mugs and T-shirts.
Where is Hello Kitty Cafe Truck stopping in Illinois?
The truck will stop at Oakbrook Center Mall Saturday, June 27, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT. Fans can visit the truck at its spot between Macy’s and Seasons52, according to the brand.
The truck will return to Illinois Saturday, July 11, making an additional stop at Westfield Old Orchard Mall in Skokie, according to NBC. The truck will be located between Vuori and Nespresso from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT.
The trucks will accept credit cards only – no cash.

Hello Kitty fans in the Chicagoland area will soon be able to visit the world’s largest Hello Kitty Cafe in Chicago, with the grand opening kicking off Friday, June 26, through Sunday, June 28.
The 8,000-square-foot, two-level space will be located at 360 N. Michigan Ave., offering an expansive view of the city’s river and skyline. The cafe is set to offer special promotions throughout opening weekend, with festivities kicking off at 10 a.m. CT each day.
Fans can look forward to special desserts and beverages, Chicago-exclusive merchandise, photobooths and immersive photo opportunities, afternoon tea experiences and more, according to the company.
