Wilson Georges is coming back to Illinois.
The three-time Journal Star Runner of the Year will run for the Fighting Illini following three seasons at Colorado.
Georges, a 2022 Limestone grad, was a two-time NCAA Cross Country Championship qualifier in 2024 and 2025, while not competing during the 2025-26 indoor and outdoor track seasons.
He has one cross country win under his belt, winning the Gig Leadbetter Maverick Stampede in September 2025. Georges then qualified for the 2025 NCAA Championships but did not start the race.
Georges was the 2021 Class 2A state runner-up at the cross country state finals. He then won the 2022 Class 2A 1600-meter run state championship.
His Journal Star Runner of the Year awards include Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year (2022) as well as the Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year (2020, 2021).
