Wisconsin Badgers legend Russell Wilson set to join CBS Sports

Former Wisconsin Badgers legend Russell Wilson is set to join CBS Sports, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter broke the news on Monday, June 1, in a blockbuster that sees the 37-year-old turn to the desk instead of joining a new team.

The New York Jets had an offer on the table that would have Wilson back up his former teammate in Seattle, Geno Smith, but Wilson decided he’d be better off becoming an analyst for CBS Sports.

Schefter noted, “it is unclear if Wilson is retiring as a player or simply taking a pause on his playing career.”

It’s hard not to look at his numbers in Madison and say Wilson isn’t one of the most impactful and one of the best quarterbacks in program history. He went on to have an extremely successful NFL career, one that saw him be named to 10 Pro Bowls, and of course, win a Super Bowl.
