Who are Central Wisconsin's top HS performers from Feb. 16-23?

High school athletes around Central Wisconsin have turned in no shortage of marquee performances as the winter sports slate slips into the postseason. 

Find out which high school performances from athletes across Marshfield, Stevens Point, Wausau and Wisconsin Rapids sports stood out as the strongest outings of the week.

Here is a look at the top high school performances around the Central Wisconsin area from Feb. 16-23.

BOYS BASKETBALL:

Mathers McHone, Spencer: McHone led Spencer with 35 points, 11 rebounds and four steals in a win over Greenwood/Granton on Feb. 16. 

Sam Bezlyk, Spencer: Bezlyk posted 28 points for Spencer in a win over Greenwood/Granton on Feb. 16. 

Zandyr Barke, Wittenberg-Birnamwood: Barke recorded 22 points in a 47-41 victory over Menominee Nation on Feb. 16.

Alex Robbins, Iola-Scandinavia: Robbins led Iola-Scandinavia with 27 points on 11-of-20 overall shooting in a 94-59 victory over Rosholt on Feb. 17. 

RJ Opperman, Iola-Scandinavia: Opperman tallied 20 points on 7-of-12 overall shooting in a 94-59 win over Rosholt. 

Caleb Decorah, Adams-Friendship: Decorah led Adams-Friendship with 28 points in a 73-44 win over Ripon. 

Reed Fleischmann, Colby:  Fleischmann recorded 19 points in a 76-37 win over Gilman on Feb. 17.

Seth Hildebrandt, Tri-County:  Hildebrandt led Tri-County with 21 points in a 85–72 loss to Wonewoc Center on Feb. 17. 

Gage Beggs, Tri-County: Beggs posted 20 points in a 85–72 loss to Wonewoc Center on Feb. 17. 

Brody Gilbertson, Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln: Gilbertson led the Red Raiders with 22 points in a 71-66 win over Chippewa Falls on Feb. 17. 

Xander Klein, Wausau East: Klein recorded 21 points on 8-of-12 overall shooting in a 87-60 win over Lakeland. 

Vander Truax, D.C. Everest: Truax led the Evergreens with 22 points in a 84-78 win over Mosinee on Feb. 17. 

Treve Stoffel, Mosinee: Stoffel posted a game-high of 26 points, nine rebounds and two steals in a 84-78 loss to D.C. E Everest on Feb. 17.

Irvin Aguilera, Abbotsford: Aguilera posted 21 points in a 70-61 victory over Phillips on Feb. 17.

JT Schlaefer, Assumption: Schlaefer dominated with 32 points on 12-of-21 overall shooting in a 74-59 loss to Athens. 

Quincy Pfender, Newman Catholic: Pfender led Newman Catholic with 27 points in a 76-65 win over Northland Lutheran

Lucas Pfiffner, Newman Catholic: Piffner dropped 26 points in a 76-65 win over Northland Lutheran.

Drew Woelfel, Marathon: Woelfel tallied 25 points, 11 rebounds and two steals in a 97-61 win over Colby. 

Ransom Dickerson, D.C. Everest: Dickerson led D.C. Everest with 26 points in a 88-70 victory over Wausau East on Feb. 20

Brayden Reinke, Mosinee: Reinke recorded 23 points in a 81-67 win over Nicolet on Feb. 21.  

GIRLS BASKETBALL:

Piper Moyer, Adams-Friendship: Moyer led Adams-Friendship with 28 points in a 67-48 win over Marshall on Feb. 16. 

Mya Dernbach, Almond-Bancroft: Dernbach dropped 27 points, 15 rebounds and two steals in a 71-61 loss to Pacelli on Feb. 16.

Ella Van Order, Pacelli: Van Order led Pacelli with 25 points in a 71-61 win over Almond-Bancroft. 

Jaedyn Zdroik, Pacelli: Zdroik finished with 22 points in a 71-61 win over Almond-Bancroft. Then 29 points in Pacelli’s following 69-53 win over Medford. 

Sy’Rih Hartwig, Athens: Hartwig tallied 25 points on 12-of-21 overall shooting in a 57-50 loss to Pittsville on Feb. 16

Hailey Klumb, Marshfield: Klumb led Marshfield with 20 points in a 70-45 victory over Wausau East. 

Taylor Klingbeil, Medford: Klingbeil led Medford with 23 points in a 72-31 win over Merrill on Feb. 16. 

Autumn Davis, Spencer: Davis finished with 25 points in a 67-43 loss to Marathon on Feb. 16. 

Emma Love,  Marathon: Love led Marathon with 23 points in a 67-43 win over Spencer. 

Jada Seubert, Stevens Point: Seubert dominated with 39 points, eight rebounds and four steals in a 71-57 win over Milwaukee Academy of Science. 

Leah Awe, Stevens Point: Awe finished with a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds in a 71-57 win over Milwaukee Academy of Science.

Paetyn Jirschele, Mosinee: Jirschele scored 21 points in a 58-38 win over Menomonee Nation on Feb. 17. 

Rory Salvesen, Wittenberg-Birnamwood: Salvesen dropped 32 points and nine assists in a 80-42 win over Iola-Scandinavia on Feb. 19. 

Kayla Baumgartner, Medford: Baumgartner posted 25 points in a 76-34 win over Northland Pines on Feb. 20. 

GIRLS HOCKEY:

Reese Simcakowski, Stevens point: Simcakowski finished with a pair of goals in a 4-3 loss to Northland Pines on Feb. 17.

BOYS HOCKEY:

Reid Butalla, Mosinee: Butalla finished with two goals in a 9-5 win over Black River Falls. 

Tyler DeCaluwe, Mosinee: DeCaluwe notched two goals in a 9-5 win over Black River Falls. Then two more goals and one assist in Mosinee’s following 9-2 victory over Medford. 

Spencer Lemke, Mosinee: Lemke finished with two goals and one assist in a 9-5 win over Black River Falls. 

Landyn Seymour, Tomahawk: Seymour tallied two goals and one assist in a 7-1 playoff victory over Eau Claire North. 

Brandon Lamer, Tomahawk: Lamer collected two goals in a 7-1 playoff victory over Eau Claire North. 

Owen Pegolski, Wausau West: Pegolski recorded two goals in a 4-3 win over New Richmond. 

Tyler Baars, Mosinee: Baars finished with two goals and one assist following 9-2 victory over Medford. 

Tanner Brooks, Mosinee: Brooks notched two goals and one assist in Mosinee’s 9-2 victory over Medford on Feb. 19.
