The 2026 UIL Track & Field Championships have arrived.
Athletes from all corners of Texas will converge on Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin for a three-day festival of high school track and field that will not only have the attention of the state but some parts of the country.
Class 2A, Class 5A, wheelchair preparing for glory
10:30 p.m. — Meet concludes.
9:30 p.m. — Refugio claimed first in the girls Class 2A team standings with 72 points, ahead of Panhandle, which tallied 60 points.
8:20 p.m. — Panhandle (Lexi Durst, Ell Robinson, Annie Pahl, Carly Land), 3:59.81 and Gruver (Reese Grotegut, Quincy Schibler, Halle McLain, Payton Merkel), 4:04.42 finished first and second, respectively, in the Class 2A 1,600 relay.
8:15 p.m. — Plains’ Christian Sanchez placed third in the Class 2A 1,600 with a time of 4:32.20.
8:10 p.m. — Farwell’s Alexis Wade is coming home with a silver medal after crossing the line with a time of 5:10.15 in the girls Class 2A 1,600. Coleman’s Victoria Guerrero finished third at 5:10.22.
8 p.m. — Hico’s Jordan Gutierrez placed first with a time of 21.30 in the boys Class 2A 200. Haskell’s Haegen Pinkerton (21.76) and Abernathy’s Caden Bird (22.01) finished in second and third, respectively.
7:50 p.m. — Cisco’s Morgan Hardman netted a silver medal with a time of 24.94 in the girls Class 2A 200.
7:40 p.m. — Stamford’s Slayden Young finished second with a time of 39.40 in the Class 2A 300 hurdles and Junction’s Brock Bierschwale claimed third with a time of 39.72.
7:30 p.m. — Ropesville Ropes’ Adalyn Falls placed second in the girls Class 2A 300 hurdles.
7:20 p.m. — Cisco’s Lillian Fought made it a pair of golds after crossing the line in 1:05.82 to cap off the wheelchair division 400 race.
6:50 p.m. — Seymour’s Madi Pring (59.13) and Olney’s Haley Craven (59.2) placed second and third in the girls Class 2A 400 in the UIL state track meet.
6:30 p.m. — Refugio (Jazmyn Howard, Caytlin Brown, Ja’zae-lynne Lewis, Carlie McClain), 1:40.01 and Panhandle (Nelly Thiessen, Ell Robinson, Lexi Durst, Susana Thiessen), 1:42.82 placed first and third to claim medals in the 800 relays.
6 p.m. — In the wheelchair division, Cisco’s Lillian Fought claimed first with a state-best time of 16.75 in the girls 100 dash and Coahoma’s Kohen Graham took top billing with a state-record time of 15.18 in the boys 100. Lubbock High’s Isaac Montoya placed third with a time of 17.46.
5:30 p.m. — Hico’s Jordan Gutierrez (10.57); and Ropesville Ropes’ Kolter Dockery (10.67) finished first and second in the Class 2A 100 dash.
5 p.m. — Amarillo Caprock’s Alhosan Sheriff placed third after crossing the line in the 110 hurdles.
4:30 p.m. — Mason’s Caden Klingelhefer turned in a gold-medal performance, clocking in at 1:57.77 in the Class 2A boys 800 in the UIL state track meet in Austin. The junior has another year to claim some more hardware.
4 p.m. — Windthorst’s Jaylee Belcher (2:19.61) and Goldthwaite’s Rylie Hillis (2:20.41) finished first and third to bring home medals to their respective hometowns.
2:05 p.m. — Smyer’s Ashtyn Burriss took top honors with a leap of 39-1 in Class 2A girls triple jump. After failing her fifth attempt, she tallied her first-place mark.
12:50 p.m. — Gruver’s Mason Lankford placed third to ensure a spot on the podium. The sophomore multi-sport athlete cleared the 6-6 mark.
12:45 p.m. — Haskell’s Landri Atkins took home silver honors after clearing 5-5 in the Class 2A girls long jump.
12:35 p.m. — In Class 2A girls pole vault, Christoval’s Khloe Bolander (11-9) and Big Sandy’s Kimber Rushing (11-6) placed second and third.
12:15 p.m. — Albany’s Camden Ables finished first with a toss of 172-3 and Refugio’s Kolton Taylor placed second with a throw of 167-0 in the Class 2A boys discus.
10:20 a.m. — Hico’s Jordan Gutierrez placed first with a leap of 22-10.50, which he reached in his sixth attempt in the Class 2A long jump.
10:15 a.m. — A pair of Big Country athletes claimed medals in the Class 2A boys pole vault. Hico’s Tyler Hunt (15-0) and Albany’s Braden Billington 14-6 finished second and third, respectively.
10:10 a.m. — Stratford’s Madi Braden claimed third place in the Class 2A girls discus. The junior notched a mark of 128-9.
9:50 a.m. — Hico’s Jordan Gutierrez took top honors after leaping 22-10.50 in the Class 2A boys long jump.
9:40 a.m. — Plainview’s Ava Rushing takes home a silver medal, the first of the day for the South Plains, after tossing a 46-0 in the Class 5A shot put of the UIL state track meet in Austin.
9:35 a.m. — Plains’ Christian Sanchez ended his high school career with a medal, clocking in at 9:50.74.
9:30 a.m. — Port Aransas’ Leah Depiper claimed the first gold for the USA Today Texas properties, clocking in at 11:33.75 in the Class 2A girls 3,200 run.
9:25 a.m. — Refugio’s Jazmine Howard took top honors after leaping 17-10.25 in the Class 2A long jump. The senior reached the mark on her third attempt.
