Another weekend closure on the Mitchell Interchange is scheduled May 15-17.
The Interstate 41/43/894 eastbound ramp to I-43/94 northbound in the Mitchell Interchange and the 27th Street entrance ramp to I-43/94 northbound will both be closed for the weekend.
The closures start 9 p.m. Friday, May 15 and last through 8 a.m. Sunday, May 17.
The I-41/43/894 eastbound exit ramp to 27th Street will also close Friday evening, but open slightly earlier at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 16.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation recommends eastbound I-41/43/894 travelers take an early exit at Loomis Road to Layton Avenue to get around the closures.
Commuters taking 27th Street are also encouraged to use the Layton Avenue entrance ramp instead of the usual 27th Street entrance ramp.
The closure comes as the DOT continues resurfacing and road improvement work across the Mitchell Interchange. The department estimates the project will be finished in fall 2026.
