Is there a position group the Packers should explore before the NFL trade deadline? | Question of the week

GREEN BAY − The Green Bay Packers are no strangers to making blockbuster trades.

This offseason, the Packers made a splash when they traded for star defensive end Micah Parsons.

The NFL trade deadline is just days away on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

With that, we asked Packers fans the question of the week:

Is there a position group the Packers should explore before the NFL trade deadline on Nov. 4?

Dave: The cornerback position needs reinforcement.

Jack: Cornerback or defensive line. It’s not ugly, but it could be with an injury or two.

Curt Chm: D Tackle

Gary Guenther: Cornerback

Nick: Corner. Valentine and Hobbs haven’t played well.

Mike Hogan: Cornerback

Ryan: Cornerback

Jim Lindenberg: Cornerback

Dwayne Postma: Yes. If the right deal for a CB would present itself, I believe the Packers should work to make it happen. Something reasonable (it is not a desperate situation).

Jeff Polack: A play-making cornerback, or we will be a one-and-done team in the 2025 playoffs.

Wynn: Get rid of No. 25

Cory: Cornerback, there’s no depth there and the guys they have aren’t going to cut it down the road.

John Zablocki: Cornerback

Ted: Cornerback

Theodore Sadlouskos: Cornerback

Jim: Cornerback room needs help badly.

Cheesehead in Seattle: Cornerback

Chad Mlenar: Cornerback

Scott: Cornerback is the obvious answer, but I think defensive line depth is needed as well.

Kurt: Cornerback

Michael Glotz: Cornerback

Michael Izard: I would improve and fortify the cornerback and defensive tackle positions.

Dave Spice: Cornerback

Jim: Cornerback

Joe: Cornerback

Mark: DT, Calais Campbell for a 7th

Dave: Cornerback. The secondary has struggled with coverage a few games this year. Playing Valentine outside instead of Hobbs was a good move. Nixon has improved but not a lock down corner. Getting one in a trade is a long shot but needed.

Gary Bergman: Cornerback

Keith: Cornerback

Tim O’Connor: Cornerback

Eric Edwarda: Cornerback

Gary: Cornerback

Neal Ricker: Cornerback

Marsha: Cornerback definitely. But not a slot corner. We have plenty of those.

Janis: Cornerback

Cal: Cornerback

Steve: Easy one: Cornerback

Jeff Witthun: Cornerback

Nick: Cornerback

Jason: Cornerback

Peter Klimczak: Cornerback (replace Nixon)

Mike: Cornerback, quality and depth are an issue

Jaire: Cornerback

Kevin: Cornerback

Richard Sanders: Cornerback

Norman: Cornerback

Allen Wilson: I am thinking maybe one more secondary person and a defensive lineman if anything.

Erwin Penny: It would seem to the fans that help at cornerback would be one of the biggest needs. Hobbs and Nixon have not played well at times. But, what can you really get from the market. Corners are hard to come by/buy so that would seem unlikely.

Mike: Cornerback or DT.

Tom: Cornerback

Todd: A good, young, fast corner.

Jim: Cornerback and defensive lineman. Cornerback play has been just ok and they could really use a big run stopper to bolster the middle of the line on defense. They don’t seem to have a lot of depth at those two positions.

John: Cornerback

Dave: Cornerback

Mike K: Cornerback

Mike: Cornerback

Phil Heinz: Cornerback

Kenneth Bradshaw: 1) Vet cornerback 2) Defensive lineman, run stuffer

Tosafish: Cornerback! Too late on McCreary. Maybe DT for injury protection. If the Packers add 1 then it’s an easy roster move – cut a kicker. If more than that, who is on the bubble – Melton, Hadden, Oladapo? Still need room for Reed, maybe Lloyd, other gameday matchup rosters. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gutenkunst sat still.

Rod: Offensive line

Pittsburgh Packer fan: Maybe a proven special teamer — particularly a punt returner. Nixon’s ugly muffed punt could’ve been another ST disaster.

Brian: Backup run stuffer (nose tackle)

Curt: D Tackle

Badger808: Cornerback

Thomas Rusch: Cornerback, cornerback, and definitely a cornerback.

Kelly Kudrna: Safety

Kurt Buchberger: Cornerback

Erwin: Cornerback

Dave: Cornerback

Tim: Cornerback

Russ Tock: Cornerback

Gary: Cornerback

Brad McCrillis: Cornerback and offensive line

Andrew: Cornerback

Ralph: I would say cornerback but good cornerbacks are hard to get. It would be nice to get a run stuffing DT or a punt returner.

Michael Holland: Cornerback

Larry: Cornerback

Gary Born: Depth at Oline tackle

Paul: Cornerback

Troy Auth: Offensive line depth

Tom: Cornerback

Jim: Secondary

Ralph: Cornerback

Tim Hando: This is not a tricky question. It’s a healthy portion of DB, DB and DB followed by a pinch of DT.

John Francois: Cornerback

Dan Cropp: Cornerback

John Prestby: Cornerbacks

Noah Mertens: I think they should consider trying to trade/cut #17 Brandon McManus and sign #19 Lucas Havrisik, especially after a disappointing performance against the Steelers.

C Lajoye: Oline, CB

Johnny: Cornerback

Jake: Cornerback

Michael James Miller: The biggest weakness for the Packers is at cornerback.
