BASEBALL
De Pere 6, Kimberly 5
KIMBERLY – The Redbirds built a five-run lead in the fifth inning and then withstood a Papermakers rally to get the nonconference win.
A Will Nikolay triple scored a run for De Pere in the first inning and Rory Obma’s second-inning double added another run.
Kimberly scored a run in the fourth before De Pere scored four in the fifth.
Kimberly rallied in its half of the fifth with a grand slam by Maddux Hermus.
Ryan Martin had two RBIs for De Pere.
Beckett Hermus had two hits for Kimberly, while Lex Knaebe, Brady Merzlicker and Pierson Hacker each had a double.
Kasen Gregoire got the win for De Pere.
Hacker took the loss for Kimberly.
Luxemburg-Casco 8-11, Freedom 1-4
FREEDOM – The Spartans scored two runs in the first inning, three in the fourth and three in the seventh in the victory in the first game of the North Eastern Conference doubleheader.
Gavin Lax pitched 6⅔ innings to get the win. He allowed four hits, one run and struck out six.
Hudson Billings, Noah Chervenka and Eli Derenne hit home runs for Luxemburg-Casco. Chervenka also had a double and drove in three runs. Billings had two RBIs.
Gavin Brennenstuhl had two hits and an RBI for Freedom.
In the second game, Luxemburg-Casco scored five runs in the fifth inning and six in the sixth to pull off the sweep of the twinbill.
Lax had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs for the Spartans.
Ethan Engum pitched 4⅓ innings to get the win. He allowed four hits, two runs, walked one and struck out four.
Chase Calmes had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs for Freedom.
Wrightstown 5-2, Oconto Falls 4-3
OCONTO FALLS – The Tigers scored four runs in the seventh inning to rally for the win over the Panthers in the first game of the doubleheader.
Bennett Stengel and Ryan Leahy both had two hits for Wrightstown (7-11, 7-8).
Landon Delfosse had three hits, including a double, for Oconto Falls (10-8, 7-7). Dom Triechel had two hits, including a double.
Jacob Miller pitched a complete game for Wrightstown to get the win. He allowed four runs on 10 hits.
Carter Heroux took the loss for Oconto Falls.
In the second game, Oconto Falls snapped a 2-2 score with a run in the sixth inning.
Ttrace Brehmer had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs for Oconto Falls.
Michael Besel had two hits for Wrightstown.
JJ Pytleski pitched a complete game and got the win for Oconto Falls. He allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks. He struck out two.
Liam Schaumberg took the loss for Wrightstown.
SOFTBALL
Kimberly 2, Chippewa Falls 0
CHIPPEWA FALLS – Isabella Ellestad pitched a complete game, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out four in the Papermakers’ win over the Cardinals.
Kimberly scored its runs in the third and fifth inning. Sophie Hermus led Kimberly with a home run.
Kimberly 17, Superior 3
CHIPPEWA FALLS – The Papermakers scored four runs in the first inning and three in the second and then polished off the win with seven runs in the seventh inning against the Spartans.
Payton Schreiber had two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs. Brecken Luedke had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Sophie Hermus had two hits with a double. Mara Wettstein, Kendra Ruys and Olivia Paveletzke each had two hits.
D.C. Everest 8, Appleton North 7
APPLETON – The Evergreens rallied from a 6-2 deficit by scoring four runs in the fifth and two in the sixth to defeat the Lightning.
Madelyn Hoppe had two hits with a home run and two RBIs for D.C. Everest. Mara Meverden also had two hits and two RBIs. Ailsa Chmielewski had two hits.
Drew Brown had two doubles and four RBIs for Appleton North. Claire Therkildsen added two hits.
Fox Valley Lutheran 7-0, Kettle Moraine Lutheran 3-1
APPLETON – The Foxes broke a 3-3 score with the Chargers with a run in the third inning and then tacked on single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth for the win in the first game of the doubleheader.
In the second game, Kettle Moraine Lutheran scored a run in the eighth inning to get the win over Fox Valley Lutheran.
Kaukauna 8, Madison Memorial 4
MADISON – The Ghosts overcame a 4-0 deficit by scoring two runs in the third inning and three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings in their win over the Spartans.
Kaukauna finished the game with 10 hits.
Madison Memorial also had 10 hits.
Two Rivers 5, Hilbert 1
HILBERT – The Raiders scored three runs in the first inning and never trailed in the win over the Wolves.
Rylee Timm had a triple and drove in two runs for Two Rivers.
Hilbert was held to four hits by Two Rivers pitcher Anna Klein.
Hilbert 15, Roncalli 3
MANITOWOC – The Wolves scored four runs in the second, two in the third and three in the fourth in the win over the Jets.
Hilbert, which finished with 15 hits, capped the win with a five-run seventh inning.
Waupaca 9, Iola-Scandinavia 8
IOLA – The Comets scored seven runs over the last three innings and needed every one of them to hold off the Thunderbirds, who rallied for five runs in the seventh inning.
Waupaca, which finished with 15 hits, got two each from Hailey Bechard, Lily Cichy, Autumn Schmidt, Savanna Floistad, Mariah Myers, AJ Koran and Addi Purkis.
Purkis drove in two runs, while Bechard and Schmidt both had doubles.
Hailey Rowe pitched a complete game for Waupaca, allowing just one earned run.
GIRLS SOCCER
Winneconne 2, Ashwaubenon 0
HORTONVILLE – The Wolves scored a goal in both halves to defeat the Jaguars.
Winneconne improved to 13-1 with the victory.
Suri Hottmann scored both goals for Winneconne. Miraya Dodd and Olivia Godfroy each had an assist.
Emery Sommers had four saves in goal for Winneconne. Sawyer Overly had 19 saves for Ashwaubenon.

HORTONVILLE – Kellyn Kresal, Abbie Oleson and Taya Alvarez each scored a goal for Winneconne in the win over the Polar Bears.
Hottmann had an assist for Winneconne.

MEQUON – The Highlanders got goals from Alex Stern and Keira Cohoon in the win over the Bluejays.
