Doors Open Milwaukee announces 2026 dates

Doors Open Milwaukee, the annual showcase of Milwaukee’s architecture and neighborhoods, will return Sept. 26-27, 2026, organizer Historic Milwaukee Inc. announced in an emailed message.

The annual event will give architecture lovers and the simply curious chances to explore more than 150 locations across the city, including some that rarely welcome behind-the-scenes visitors.

On its website, Historic Milwaukee said it will post the full list of participating buildings during the first week of September. Past editions of Doors Open have included such famous landmarks as the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 9400 W. Congress St., and Milwaukee Public Library Central Library, 814 W. Wisconsin Ave., as well as smaller and quirkier gems like Falcon Bowl, 801 E. Clarke St.

Most events are free, but there are some paid ticketed tours as well as some free tours that require tickets. Check the Doors Open site at historicmilwaukee.org/doors-open closer to the event dates for information on free spots, tour tickets and requirements. Tickets must be booked in advance online.
