Jacksboro High School softball withdrew from the UIL high school softball postseason after self-reporting the use of an ineligible player on Wednesday, after the team’s area round win over Wall last week.
As a result of the Tigerettes forfeiting their games, the Lady Hawks will advance to the regional semifinal against Canadian high school.
The details for Wall’s matchup against Canadian in the regional semifinal have not been finalized.
The University Interscholastic League confirmed Jacksboro’s forfeiture.
“Jacksboro ISD self-reported the participation of an ineligible player during the 2025-26 softball season,” the statement read. “Per the UIL Constitution & Contest Rules, the minimum penalty is forfeiture of all games in which the player participated. As a result, Jacksboro High School has withdrawn from the UIL state softball playoffs, and area-round opponent Wall High School will advance to the regional semifinal matchup against Canadian High School.”
This decision comes on the back of a dramatic Game 3 win over the Lady Hawks, where the Tigerettes scored three runs in the final inning, downing Wall 3-2.
Now, the Lady Hawks fly back into the postseason picture, boasting a 27-5 record, and face a Canadian squad with a 24-7 season record.
