Texas A&M football coach Mike Elko isn’t the only one landing No. 1–ranked talent. Volleyball coach and reigning National Coach of the Year Jamie Morrison is building a monster 2028 class and he’s doing it fast. Just a day after securing top‑20 prospect Maija Mortensen, Morrison has now added the best high school prospect in the country.
On Thursday, elite outside hitter Maya Ogbogu of Allen, Texas, announced her commitment to the Aggies. The pickup is massive for A&M, especially considering her family ties. Ogbogu’s cousin is a legendary Texas Longhorn, yet Maya had long been eyeing College Station. Her attacking style fits seamlessly into Morrison’s fast, aggressive system.
Ogbogu stars for Allen High School and plays club for Texas Advantage Volleyball (TAV), where she has dominated at every level. Her resume is already stacked:
And that’s only part of the list.
Ranked No. 1 overall by PrepDig and No. 2 by PrepVolleyball, Ogbogu averaged 4.0 kills per set as a sophomore, a production rarely seen at her age. For Morrison, who has turned A&M into a national powerhouse in just three seasons, this is another program‑defining win on the recruiting trail.
It’s safe to say the Aggies have a special one headed to campus.
