A 40-year-old woman was found dead at the Padre Island National Seashore on May 6, police said.
Angelita Martinez was reported missing to the Corpus Christi Police Department on May 4, a police release said. The family of Martinez told police she was last seen May 1 on Windward Drive wearing a grey top and dark colored sweats.
On May 8, CCPD released an update saying Martinez was found deceased at the National Seashore in Kleberg County two days prior.
CCPD said they are assisting the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Texas Rangers Division with the investigation.
DPS Sgt. Rob Mallory said no foul play is suspected.
