The Lubbock chapter of NAACP is inviting the community to its annual Scholarship Dinner, Saturday, Aug. 1, at the MCM Elegante, 801 Ave. Q.
The event will feature an evening of food, music, and a silent auction. Doors open at 6 p.m. for a reception and dinner at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public, and proceeds benefit the organization’s scholarship program. Individual tickets are $60.
A table for eight is $650 and includes a 1/4 page ad in the organization’s commemorative program.
“We are honored to welcome Texas NAACP President Gary Bledsoe as our keynote speaker, alongside distinguished co-hosts Phyllis Gant and Shelia Patterson Harris,” reads a statement from Lubbock NAACP. “Together, we will celebrate the achievements of our 2026 scholarship recipients, present the prestigious Rose Wilson Leadership Award and Caviel Business & Community Service Award, and reaffirm our commitment to empowering the next generation of changemakers.”
