Longhorns hosting 14 official visits this weekend, including two five-stars

Summer recruiting is heating up this weekend on the 40 Acres. Texas is hosting 14 prospects in Austin, including two five-stars. Elite prospects Felix Ojo of Mansfield and Xavier Griffin from Gainesville, GA headline the second of three official visit weekends in June. Ojo recently canceled a planned trip to Oklahoma, fueling speculation that he could be leaning towards becoming a Longhorn.

There are five top-50 and six more top-100 prospects in the group visiting the 40 Acres this weekend. The only visitor not in the top 275 recruits in the nation is Austin safety Yaheim Riley, who is already committed to the Longhorns.

There’s a real focus on the trenches with this weekend’s group of visitors. Eight of the 14 players in Austin this weekend are offensive or defensive linemen, plus a 300-pound tight end. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian is also making in roads within the SEC footprint, as five of the visitors are from the state of Georgia.
