A new restaurant will open in Burkburnett soon.
Carlos Moreno Jr. confirmed Tuesday his family is opening the Pump City Diner at 512 Sheppard Road.
He said that is the renovated site of the once-popular Burk Diner.
Moreno said the only hold up is delivery of a freezer, which he expects in the next few days.
“We’re pretty much keeping the menu simple, you know, the comfort food that people like,” he said.
The fare will include burgers, chicken fried steak, catfish and breakfast served all day.
Operating hours will be 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
The Moreno family has another Pump City Diner in Electra, and Carlito’s Mexican food restaurants in Electra, Iowa Park and Burkburnett.
He said his father, Carlos Moreno Sr. and wife, Nelly, are owners of the restaurants while he and brother Eduardo Moreno are general managers. Moreno said the family has been in the restaurant business in the area since 2001.
