If Albuquerque’s Holly Holm (34-3-3, 9 KOs) is going to win the rematch vs. El Paso’s Stephanie Han (12-0, 3 KO’s), Holm will need to dig deep and return to the form of her past success.
Han and Holm will meet Saturday, May 30, at the El Paso County Coliseum on ESPN for Han’s WBA lightweight title in a 10-round fight, with each round lasting three minutes.
The Han vs. Holm fight will be one of four fights to be televised on ESPN beginning at 7 p.m MT. Han defeated Holm by technical unanimous decision on Jan. 3, 2026 in San Juan Puerto Rico.
This will be Han’s third defense of her title. Holm is a former three-division world champion in boxing and a former UFC champion.
Holly Holm must be consistently aggressive
Holm must get off to a good start in the rematch. Han took the initiative in the first fight and Holm never seemed to find her groove.
Holm has to take more chances in the match and be more aggressive.
Han was quicker in the in the first fight and constantly beat Holm the punch to gain her advantage.
Holm needs to use her experience
Holm is a former boxing champion and former UFC champion, who has fought at the highest level.
No moment is too big for Holm, who is a true legend in the world of combat sports.
Holm has seen pretty much every style in boxing and that could play a major role her winning the title from Han.
Holm has been the main event several times on television and has fought in front of big crowds, more so than Han and she needs to use that to her advantage.
Holm has to get Stephanie Han’s attention early
Han will be motivated to come out early and set the tone in front of her home fans.
Holm must stay relaxed early and must show Han that things might be different in the rematch. Han was knocked down early in her title defense vs. Paulina Angel before recovering for the win. Look for Holm to try and get Han in trouble early in the fight.
