5 best burger spots in El Paso to visit on National Burger Day

It’s National Burger Day, and El Paso has no shortage of spots to grab the iconic favorite — from beloved local eateries to popular national chains.

National Burger Day is celebrated annually on May 28, and it’s easy to see why — Americans consume more than 50 million burgers each year, with the average person eating about three burgers a week, according to All About Burger.

With plenty of burger spots across the city, we turned to Google reviews to help find some of the best places to grab a burger in El Paso.

Here are five highly rated burger joints in El Paso.

Roscoe’s Burger Inn

The eatery that’s been in business for more than seven decades continues to be among the best for burgers in El Paso. Roscoe’s Burgers has more than 1,800 Google reviews and an overall 4.7-star rating.

“This place is a staple for a reason. The burgers are unbelievable and very well priced,” one review said.

“Everything about this place is awesome. The service is always good, very attentive and very nice. Food is…fire. Honestly one of the best burgers I’ve had. Been going there since I was young and it never disappoints,” another person wrote.

The restaurant opened in 1955 and is now owned by Jacob Carrasco, a third-generation owner.

Chase the Taste

The burger joint located at the Substation in West El Paso has more than 1,000 reviews and an overall 4.6-star rating, with many noting the amazing, juicy burgers and “ridiculous” portions.

“I got a classic burger, and it reminded me of a family grill on the Fourth of July. Very nostalgic, they encapsulated everything about not only good burgers but a pleasant experience,” one review said.

Orange Cow Burgers

The burger spot — often compared to El Paso’s own In-N-Out Burger — offers up perfectly-cooked patties with tons of melted cheese, earning it an overall 4.5-star rating and more than 1,400 Google reviews.

The fries are pretty good, too.

 “Very yummy and delicious burgers. Fries were the standout though; very crispy and flavorful,” one review said.

Phred’s Border Burger Bar

The burger spot along Fort Boulevard in Central El Paso has more than 1,300 reviews commenting on its delicious food and great service, earning it an overall rating of 4.5 stars.

“There is a wide variety of burgers that are unique. They also have traditional burgers. Everything I had was amazing. This is definitely one of the best burgers in El Paso,” one person wrote.

Out-of-towners also describe Phred’s Border Burger Bar as a hidden gem.

“I came from Maryland and this place is sooo underrated. This was honestly the BEST burger and fries I have had in a very long time! The quality and the freshness of the burger was great. It’s very rare to have a great burger and great fries together and this place has it!! Will be back for sure,” a review said.

Toro Burger Bar

Nearly 2,000 reviews give this local spot an overall rating of 4.4 stars, with many recognizing staff by name and saying they received incredible service — they also note the juicy, flavorful burgers.

“Toro is THE place for burgers in (El Paso). The attention to detail and consistency resonates through every dish,” one review said.
