OKLAHOMA CITY — The Texas Tech softball team will try to score more runs than Mississippi State to pick up a win in the first game of the 2026 Women’s College World Series at Devon Park today.
The Red Raiders and Bulldogs will open the tournament today after facing off in the regional round of last season. Texas Tech boasts four NFCA All-Americans as Kaitlyn Terry, NiJaree Canady, Mia Williams and Jackie Lis will try to lead the Red Raiders to victory over Mississippi State, which is making its first WCWS appearance in program history.

11:07 a.m.: Morgan Stiles will lead things off for Mississippi State.
11:04 a.m.: The coaches meeting has completed. We are set to go.
10:47 a.m.: The lineups have been updated. NiJaree Canady will start in the circle for Texas Tech softball. Terry is in left field.
10:24 a.m.: Texas Tech softball is going with the two-pitcher setup to start the WCWS how it ended the Super Regional. Kaitlyn Terry is listed as the starting pitcher and NiJaree Canady the DP. This allows both pitchers to be available to rotate in and out of the game as head coach Gerry Glasco sees fit.
10:08 a.m.: Texas Tech softball will be wearing the white uniforms today as the home team. First pitch scheduled for 11:06 a.m., according to the video board.
9:57 a.m.: Fans have started filling into Devon Park for the start of the 2026 Women’s College World Series. Texas Tech softball kicks things off against Mississippi State in about an hour. Raider Red is in the house and taking photos with the people.
