Dallas Cowboys news. Cowboys begin workouts as stadium prepares for FIFA

The Dallas Cowboys are starting their voluntary organized team activities (a fancy term for practices without pads), and while George Pickens isn’t expected to be there, there are some Cowboys for whom these are important.

Back in Arlington, Dallas’ AT&T Stadium is being refurbished for the World Cup, which involves blotting out the AT&T brand wherever it may be. The next game Dallas has there is a preseason tilt against the New Orleans Saints, and by the time that happens, the teams will have some familiarity with each other, as they’ve set up a joint practice.

Here is the day in Dallas.

Dallas Cowboys OTAs

The Cowboys kick off their Organized Team Activities on Monday, June 1 at the Star in Frisco. The voluntary veteran and rookie workouts are scheduled for June 1-2, 4, 8-9 and 11, with the mandatory minicamp to follow from June 16-20.

George Pickens is not expected to attend the voluntary OTAs, as he has mostly stayed away from the team facilities as he navigates his one-year contract.

ESPN’s Todd Archer came up with a list of Cowboys who have much at stake in the OTAs: Edge rusher Marist Liufau, running back Jaydon Blue, edge rusher Sam Williams, quarterback Joe Milton III and cornerback Caelen Carson.

What those players have in common is that they didn’t produce much in 2025 for various reasons.

Of Liufau, Archer writes: “A third-round pick in 2024, Liufau was either a poor fit in the previous defensive scheme or the coaches lacked confidence in him. He started five games and was credited with 21 tackles, but he played only 202 snaps on a defense that was starving for playmaking.

”He is moving to edge rusher this season under new coordinator Christian Parker, which might be viewed as a last chance to impress, although he has been a core special teamer. It will be difficult to evaluate Liufau’s true measure without pads on, but if he can make an impact around the quarterback and/or the ball, then he will have a chance when things get closer to real in Oxnard.”

Dallas Cowboys stadium

The Cowboys play at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, though it won’t be called that this summer when it hosts World Cup games.

In order to protect exclusive sponsors partnering with FIFA, all mentions of AT&T are being scrubbed or covered up and the stadium will officially be Dallas Stadium.

A total of nine World Cup games will be played in Dallas Stadium, starting on June 14 and running through the semifinals on July 14. That gives the stadium plenty of time to restore the AT&T branding for the Cowboys only preseason home game on Aug. 28 against New Orleans.

New Orleans Saints practice

Dallas Cowboys training camp

The Dallas Cowboys will have a joint practice with the New Orleans Saints at some point during training camp, it has been widely reported. The Saints are actually having joint practices with all three teams they play in the preseason, and at some point the Cowboys could do the same, as other joint practices are expected to be lined up.

Dallas’ training camp begins July 21 in Oxnard, Calif. Last year they had joint practices with the Los Angeles Rams.

Camp is set to run through Aug. 21, a stretch that will include the Cowboys’ preseason opener in Seattle on Aug. 15. They head to Arizona for an Aug. 22 preseason game, then return to their facility in Frisco for the rest of the year.

Their only preseason home game is Aug. 28 against the Saints.

Dallas Cowboys tickets 2026

Seat Geek is the official partner of the Dallas Cowboys, so this is where to get official tickets. The Cowboys are also offering packages for the Week 3 game in Rio de Janeiro against the Ravens, ranging from $1,200 to $5,750. That doesn’t include airfare and the cheap rate doesn’t include hotel.

Other places to buy tickets, which will be more expensive but with a much larger selection than the official tickets, include StubHub, TicketMaster and Vivid Seats. Those sites also offer tickets for away games.
