Iowa State football gets pair of 2027 commits following weekend visits

After a weekend of hosting recruits and prospects, Iowa State football has landed two more commitments to add to its 2027 recruiting class.

Head coach Jimmy Rogers and the Cyclones landed a pair of three-star recruits. Offensive lineman Drew Aagesen committed on May 30, and then safety Jordan Crider followed up with a commitment announcement on May 31.

Aagesen, a native of Goodrich, Michigan, is a two-way standout in high school, but he will play offensive line at Iowa State. Defensively, he recorded 11 sacks, with 21 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and three blocked kicks as a junior last season. Offensively, while he played on the line, he also has experience at tight end due to his athleticism and skill.

According to 247 Sports’ Composite rankings, he is the No. 21-ranked prospect from the state of Michigan.

Aagesen chose Iowa State over other offers from Boston College, Michigan State, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Wisconsin, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Toledo, and Western Michigan. Of the bunch, the Cyclones were the first power-conference team to offer him back in March.

As for Crider, the three-star safety from Middletown, Ohio, is the No. 114-ranked safety in the nation for the class of 2027. A 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect, Crider shined defensively in limited action at Middletown High School, due to state transfer rules. He had 18 tackles and four interceptions across five contests. Crider also took snaps at wide receiver and logged 12 receptions for 185 yards and three touchdowns.

Crider also had offers from Kentucky, Temple, Bowling Green, James Madison, Miami (Ohio) and Toledo.
