Hoban’s football outlook in 2025

Hoban won five state championships (2015 and 2016 in Division III, 2017, 2018 and 2020 in Division II) and finished as the Division II state runner-up in 2021, 2022 and 2023. The Knights still have talent all over the field. Although losing Ohio Division II Defensive Player of the Year Eli Lee to Ohio State hurts, the Feister brothers pose a serious challenge for most opponents’ offenses. … Hoban has once again loaded its schedule with Maryland state champ Archbishop Spalding, Michigan runner-up King, state runners-up Glenville, St. Edward and Central York (Pa.) and Walsh Jesuit on the horizon. … Eight of Hoban’s nine-game schedule will be played at Dowed Field. … “We’ve got a ton of experience, and it’s game experience,” Hoban coach Tim Tyrrell said. “You don’t want a kid learning on the run. It just helps us early in the season with a lot of kids coming back.”
